Job Description
Join Raytheon as a Senior Systems Safety Engineer and lead critical safety programs within the Naval Powers System Safety team. Leverage your expertise to ensure product safety and compliance throughout the engineering lifecycle while collaborating with diverse teams in a mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leading one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs
Performing MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program tasks and analyses
Coordinating with customer safety representatives for safety approval
Collaborating with various teams to eliminate hazards or provide effective controls
Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
Minimum 5 years of relevant Systems Engineering or Safety Engineering experience
Experience in System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety Engineering
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
U.S. citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in command and control systems and/or weapon combat systems
Experience with DoD System Safety Programs
Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development
Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal and project management skills
