RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work in Neuro Stepdown unit with patient ratios between 1:3-5
• Step Down patients maintain 1:3 ratio while Telemetry patients have 1:4 ratio
• Every other weekend requirement with on-call as needed
• 30 bed unit with mix of ratios serving adult and geriatric patients
• Daily census of 29 patients
• 12 hours of orientation required
• Required certifications: CA RN License, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (all AHA certified)
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years stepdown or telemetry unit experience required
• Travel experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience required
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of signing
• 50 miles travel requirement with locals accepted at local rate
• Only one holiday will be approved for time off
• Must complete non-billable modules during orientation (average 1-5 hours)
• Work with patients diagnosed with stroke and other neuro-related conditions
• Skills include managing ports, blood product administration, central line care, chest tubes, craniotomy care, CVA management, tracheostomy care, and traumatic brain injury care

The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary support. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and utilizes Epic charting system for comprehensive patient documentation.
