Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. This position is needed for holidays, especially Christmas. The RN is expected to embrace the core values of the organization by delivering superior quality in all tasks, treating others with respect, achieving objectives, collaborating as a team, and being resourceful in overcoming obstacles.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
- Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients/families and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely patient information at team conferences and ensure accurate documentation.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status efficiently among care providers.
- Provide direction and supervision for ancillary nursing personnel.
- Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Contribute to a positive work environment through team building activities.
- Assume charge responsibility as requested and pursue professional growth.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
- Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
