Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Brownwood, Texas (76801) – Central Texas healthcare jobs
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel RN contract
• Start Date: December 15, 2025
• End Date: March 16, 2026
• Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (07:00 - 19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Telemetry Med/Surg (4 East)
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Daily Census: 35 patients
• Weekend Coverage: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1630 - $1750

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Texas or compact state
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Travel nursing experience required
• Experience with electronic charting systems (Altera preferred)
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 5-6
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Must pass facility drug screen upon arrival (includes marijuana)

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and manage dysrhythmias
• Administer blood products, cardiac drips, and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Perform central line and PICC line care and management
• Manage feeding tubes, surgical drains, and wound care/wound vac
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services
• Utilize rapid response/code teams as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to isolation precautions
