• Community Hospital & Adult Acute Care / Cervical, lumbar & Thoracic Experience REQUIRED
• Certs: ARRT (R), BLS, ARRT Advanced Cert REQUIRED

Skills REQUIRED: 

• Adult Acute Care, Adult Outpatient and Emergency Department
• Abdoment w/o and/or with contrast, Pelvis w/o and/or with contrast
• Chest w/o and/or with contrast
• Head w/o and/or with contrast
• Preparation and/or administration of contrast media, Starting Peripheral IVs & Venipuncture
• Brain perfusion, CT arthrography & Myelography
• Musculoskeletal trauma
• Procedures: Aspirations & Biopsises

PREFERRED Skills:

• Pediatric Acute Care exp.
• Multiplanar reconstruction (MRP)
• Biopsies, Colonography or virtual Colonography, Drainage
• Pediatric Acute Care / Vascular CTAs
• Certs: ACLS
• Procedures: Extremities, Abdomen/GI, Spine/Pelvis, Head, Chest/ Thorax, Musculoskeletal, Fluoroscopy Studies, Lower Extremities, Upper Extremities, Enema Studies

JOB DETAILS:

• Schedule is 12 Hour NIGHTS; 19:00 - 07:00; THURSDAY, FRIDAY & SATURDAY.
• Call is 3 days every 4 weeks. The Call requirement is to arrive within 30 minutes.
• Float is between the ER scanner and the main department scanner.

SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: 

• Receives, relays, and documents verbal, written, and electronic orders.
• Prepares patient for procedure and assumes responsibility for patient needs during procedures.
• Demonstrates understanding of human anatomy, pathology, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient’s age, condition, and abilities.
• Follows protocols established by licensed practitioner and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety.
• Identifies, prepares, and administers medications, including contrast media, as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Performs venipuncture as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Evaluates images for quality and ensures proper recording of accurate patient identification and anatomical laterality.
• Ensures complete examination is performed following protocol.
• Ensures timely review and transfer of images and pertinent clinical information to a licensed practitioner.
• Properly operates electronic medical record (EMR), radiology information system (RIS) and picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
• Applies principles of ALARA to minimize radiation exposure to patient, self, and others.
• Demonstrates current knowledge of federal and state radiation safety laws.
• Properly utilizes personnel monitoring devices.
• Administers medication with an infusion pump or power injector as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Maintains high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique.
• Ensures proper equipment performance and schedules maintenance for emergent needs.
• Assists a licensed practitioner with interventional computed tomography procedures.
• Performs computed tomography procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: PACS required and SIEMENS preferred.
