PCU RN Job Details

• Location: Springfield, Ohio (zip 45504) – Ohio healthcare jobs
• Unit: 3East - Neuro Stepdown (30 beds)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per week: 36 or 48 (both options available)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1680 - $1800
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025, End: 2/28/2026)
• Schedule: Every 3rd weekend, every other holiday
• Patient Ratios: 1:5-6
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in PCU, Stepdown, or critical care
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and NIHSS (Stroke Scale) certifications preferred
• Neuro nursing experience and dysrhythmia exam preferred (study guide available)
• EPIC EHR experience and completion of a critical care course preferred

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop individualized care plans
• Provide care for complex neuro, cardiac, renal, and med/surg patients
• Administer medications, including IV blood pressure meds and heparin drips; manage oxygen therapies (BiPAP, CPAP, high flow, stable trachs)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and advocate for patients
• Monitor patient conditions, including hemodynamic monitoring and conscious sedation
• Educate patients and families throughout illness and recovery
• Uphold professionalism, safety, and infection control standards
• Participate in quality improvement and ongoing professional development
