The Senior Director of Behavior, ARC & CARE, will lead a team dedicated to providing high-quality care for animals in need, overseeing behavioral interventions and ensuring their overall health and welfare. This role involves collaboration with various teams, research initiatives, and the opportunity to make a significant impact on animal rehabilitation and adoption.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee behavioral care and pathway planning for ARC and CARE animals
Ensure high quality, low stress patient and population care
Manage a team of behavior experts and provide hands-on coaching
Collaborate with various teams to enhance animal health and welfare
Lead research projects and share findings with internal and external stakeholders
Required Qualifications
3+ years’ experience in people management
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with all levels of staff
Comfortable with humane euthanasia decisions and procedures
Fear Free certification within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in developing/overseeing research projects
Experience writing scientific publications for peer-reviewed journals
