Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Location: Seattle, WA 98122 (Washington nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel RN Contract)
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (High Risk/High Volume, 31 beds, 4 ORs)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30), 36 hours/week
• Duration: 16 weeks (10/20/2025 – 2/9/2026)
• Average Daily Census: 15 patients; 500–600 deliveries/month
• Floating: Required to Postpartum/Antepartum and sister facilities
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1910 - $2050

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of recent high-acuity Labor & Delivery RN experience (high risk required; 5 years preferred)
• Travel RN experience required (no first-time travelers)
• Current Washington RN license or active compact license
• Current BLS and NRP certifications (ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate/Advanced preferred)
• Proficiency with Epic charting and electronic fetal monitoring
• Current supervisory references and proof of certifications required
• Ability to circulate for C-sections and provide comprehensive newborn care (eyes, thighs, Vitamin K injections, assessments)
• Must pass clinical review and provide current Nursys verification

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to laboring patients in a fast-paced, high-risk environment
• Circulate for C-sections and assist with all types of deliveries
• Serve as Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Administer medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Perform newborn care: eyes, thighs (Vitamin K), assessments, and documentation
• Float to Postpartum/Antepartum and other mother/baby units as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including midwives, OBs, and recovery services
• Maintain compliance with AWHONN staffing guidelines and facility protocols
