Job Details:
• 5:1 patient ratio for all shifts (days, nights, weekends)
• 5 years of nursing experience required
• 30-bed medical surgical telemetry unit with 28 daily census
• Adult patient population
• 36 hours of orientation required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Required certifications: CA RN License, ACLS, BLS (all AHA certifications must be in hand at time of submittal)
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Two pre-approved time off requests allowed
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of signing
• 50 mile travel requirement (locals accepted at reduced rate)
• Required skills include cardiac telemetry, blood product administration, central line care, chest tubes, heparin protocols, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, PCA, IV management, and total joint replacement care
• Common patient diagnoses include falls, sepsis, UTI, pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, and CHF exacerbation
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Non-billable modules completed during orientation (1-5 hours average)
• Must disclose any background hits or DUIs prior to submission
