Join MedSTAR Transport as an Emergency Vehicle Operator/EMT to provide essential patient care during interfacility ambulance transport. This role is crucial for ensuring safe and efficient medical transport, contributing to the overall quality of care.
Key Responsibilities
Safely and efficiently operate the ground ambulance
Conduct inspection of the assigned ambulance
Provide feedback and participate in program safety initiatives
Adhere to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards
Ensure cleanliness and appropriate par levels of supplies in transport vehicle
Establish and maintain professional radio communications
Perform basic airway techniques including oxygen therapy
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
Participate in MedSTAR Transport safety program
Represent the department and hospital in community outreach efforts
Transport patients to various locations as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Successful completion of an approved EMT course
Completion of an approved emergency vehicle driving course
NREMT - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians-Basic (EMT-B)
EMT - Emergency Medical Tech in the District of Columbia within 30 Days
EMT - Emergency Medical Tech in Maryland
MedSTAR Transport or Mid Atlantic Air Transportation Services affiliation as an EMT
CPR certification for healthcare providers
FEMA ICS 100 Course
FEMA ICS 200 Course
Valid State Driver's License in good standing
Preferred Qualifications
1-2 years EMT experience
