Job Description
Join UnitedHealth Group as an Experienced Senior Tax Associate, focusing on mergers and acquisitions. You'll collaborate with various departments, assist in tax due diligence, and conduct technical research, contributing to transformative health care solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with tax due diligence for acquisitions and investments
Evaluate tax implications for dispositions
Research and provide tax advice on structuring acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures
Review purchase agreements and other relevant legal documents from a tax perspective
Conduct technical research on tax laws and regulations
Collaborate with other tax groups and corporate functions
Participate in tax return preparation and other tax projects
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or advanced degree
2+ years of tax or accounting experience in a public accounting firm or large corporate tax department
Ability to prioritize assignments and manage workload
Solid analytical and critical thinking skills
Intermediate proficiency with MS Office
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or graduate degree (e.g., Masters of Tax, law degree, MBA)
Experience with mergers and acquisition tax concepts
OneSource or equivalent income tax compliance software experience
ASC 740 (Income tax accounting) experience
SSAP 101 (Insurance tax accounting) experience
Ability to identify and solve problems using data
Excellent organizational and communication skills
