Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Pennsylvania RN jobs
• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience
• ICU experience required

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from admission
• Communicate changes in patient status to healthcare team members for continuity and safety
• Supervise and delegate tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees
• Promote patient and employee safety by following hospital policies and safety protocols
• Participate in team building and contribute positively to unit operations
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
