Job Description
Join Akron Children's Hospital as a Staff Nurse in the Behavioral Health Unit, providing specialized nursing care to pediatric patients. This full-time position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through family-centered care, teamwork, and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct nursing care focused on family-centered care
Provide care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs
Perform leadership and professional duties
Engage in quality improvement and safety duties
Participate in staff education and precept new employees
Support provider staff and promote collaboration for quality care
Engage in evidence-based practice and systems-based practice
Perform informatics and technology duties
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Current certification in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
Valid, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Ohio
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and collaborative team service
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
Experience with Microsoft Office or similar software
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in healthcare
Experience with electronic medical record systems (i.e., EPIC)
