Emergency Department Nurse Position
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Department Nurse to join our well-staffed and dynamic team. The Emergency Department operates 24/7, managing approximately 14,000 patient visits each year. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Position Details
- Shift: 10:00 AM - 10:30 PM
- Contract Weeks: 18
- Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Start Date: October (exact date to be discussed)
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessments and screenings to determine the severity of patients' conditions.
- Administer medications, treatments, and other interventions as per protocols.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor and document patients' progress and responses to treatment.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of current Emergency Department experience in a hospital setting.
- Preferred: 3 months of travel experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Current and valid certifications: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and BLS.
- Must have a valid Vermont state nursing license.
- All certifications must be in hand at the time of submission to be considered.
- Must have a personal vehicle for transportation to and from the facility.
- All requested time off (RTO) must be noted at the time of submission; no more than 5 days of RTO will be accepted.
- Local travelers (those residing within 50 miles of the facility) are not eligible for this position.
Additional Information
Block scheduling is not allowed, and all scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission. Extensions that end in November or before the holidays in December will not be considered. Please be aware that all assignments are subject to rigorous compliance and satisfaction standards.
Holiday Coverage
Travelers are required to work two of the following holidays:
- Thanksgiving and the following Friday/weekend
- Christmas Eve/Christmas Day and the following Friday/weekend
- New Year's Eve/New Year Day and the following Friday/weekend
