Job Description
Join Grainger as an Experienced Maintenance Technician and be the expert on automated material handling systems in our Distribution Center. You will troubleshoot and maintain complex systems, ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency, while enjoying comprehensive benefits and a supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary responder for complex system issues involving automated material handling
Assist with infrastructure upgrades and repairs
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and control systems
Work with internal and external teams to resolve problems
Perform audits and quality checks on equipment and systems
Be available for 24-hour on-call rotation
Required Qualifications
Technical degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of building and equipment maintenance experience
Two years maintaining automated material handling systems
Technical training in electronic controls and PLC troubleshooting
Experience using electrical test equipment and tools
Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and schematics
Understanding of codes such as NEC, BOCA, UBC, MSDS, and OSHA
Preferred Qualifications
Technical skills to become subject matter expert for automated material handling systems
Experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley)
Understanding of power distribution and control circuits
Experience with thermal imaging equipment
Experience with AC drives setup and programming
