Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2100–$2250 per week
• Location: Somerville, NJ 08876 (New Jersey healthcare job)
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (12 beds, 11 rooms)
• Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 9/30/2025 – End: 12/30/2025)
• Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (19:00 – 07:30)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Charting System: EPIC
• Scrubs: Provided
• Parking: Free, unrestricted spaces

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active NJ or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Intermediate AWHONN, FHM (all required at submission)
• Scrub experience required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records
• Ability to float to other units within skillset
• Every third weekend required; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays
• First-time travel nurses must have current labor experience
• Professional references required

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, including triage, antepartum, delivery, and postpartum recovery
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-section recovery, and perform sterile vaginal exams
• Manage central lines, administer medications, and monitor fetal heart rates
• Support breastfeeding, lactation, couplet care, and newborn identification
• Operate external and internal fetal monitoring equipment (IUPC, Novii)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services)
• Follow infection control protocols and isolation precautions
• Float to other clinical units as needed
