Key Responsibilities

  • Provide education for clients with diabetes of all ages
  • Conduct health and education assessments
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate education plans
  • Collaborate with a team in classroom or individual outpatient settings
  • Engage in professional development and community outreach

Required Qualifications

  • Oregon Dietitian License upon hire
  • National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration upon hire
  • Three (3) years experience in treatment and education of diabetes within the last 2 years
  • Experience with current adult learning theory in relation to diabetes education
  • Experience with the clinical management of diabetes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal coursework or credentials in principles of adult learning theory and patient-centered learning
  • Certification in Diabetes Education, or willingness to attain CDCES certification upon hire
  • Experience with diverse ethnic groups
