As a Staff Nurse in the PACU, you will be pivotal in providing exceptional care to patients recovering from anesthesia. You will assess, plan, and implement nursing care, ensuring high standards of documentation and patient safety while collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate post-anesthetic/post-operative patient care
Participate in the development and administration of continuing education for Registered Nurses in PACU
Deliver quality nursing care during the immediate post-anesthesia phase
Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
Supervise and delegate duties to support staff
Participate in unit-level functioning and quality improvement measures
Required Qualifications
Current ACLS certification
Current CPR/BLS certification
Current PALS certification
Current RN licensure in the State of Maryland
Hospital certification in Defibrillation, IV insertion, blood glucose monitoring
Recent PACU experience or one year critical care experience, or two years Telemetry experience with Critical Care course completion
