Key Responsibilities
Identify, plan, and conduct innovative research projects focused on extreme weather events
Develop and implement novel techniques and models to enhance risk analytics and loss prevention
Collaborate with a global team of scientists
Contribute to the development of hazard models assessing flood, wind, storms, and wildfire risks
Required Qualifications
MS in meteorology, data science, or adjacent field with practical experience in modeling extreme weather and over 3 years of professional experience
PhD in meteorology, data science, or adjacent field with knowledge of statistical/dynamical downscaling techniques
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in meteorology or atmospheric/climate science with a solid research record
Experience in utilizing Linux/Unix clusters for high-performance computing
Experience in DevOps practices and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
Competence in using GIS software and processing tools
Expertise in developing and applying stochastic models
