Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as a Unit Assistant and play a vital role in patient care. You will support providers, assist with medical procedures, and ensure a positive patient experience in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to and from exam rooms and complete patient intake
Clean and straighten exam rooms between patients
Prepare syringes and administer injections
Assist provider with injectable procedures
Prepare pathology and lab specimens
Respond to patient questions
Schedule or reschedule appointments
Maintain medication samples and discard out-of-date supplies
Train other employees on medical assistant duties
Assist with check-in or check-out procedures
Required Qualifications
At least one (1) year of medical assisting experience
Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program
Strong customer service skills
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
Ability to lift at least 15 pounds
Ability to stand for prolonged periods
