Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair tractors and tanker trailers
Perform annual/systematic 90-day and HM-183 inspections on equipment
Ensure equipment meets Federal FHWA standards
Operate a yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and shop
Order and receive parts and supplies as needed
Adhere to all established safety and environmental policies
Clean, organize and maintain the work environment
Use welding equipment
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
Perform HM-183 DOT inspections on tanker trailers
Required Qualifications
3-4 years of experience in repair and service of tanker trailers and medium duty trucks
Knowledge of vehicle and equipment theory, principles and repair relating to diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
3 years experience of tractor and tanker trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations
Ability to use vehicle diagnostic software
3-4 years as a fleet mechanic
3-4 years of DOT HM-183 certification, training or experience
3 years operating welding equipment (TIG)
High school diploma or GED
