The Senior Director of Behavior oversees the behavioral care and pathway planning for animals at the ARC and CARE, ensuring their health and welfare. This role collaborates with various teams to implement research projects that advance the ASPCA’s mission while leading a skilled team of behavior experts.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee behavioral care and pathway planning for animals
Ensure high quality, low stress patient care
Develop and oversee behavioral diagnosis and treatment plans
Lead a team of behavior experts
Collaborate on research projects to advance animal behavior and welfare
Required Qualifications
3+ years’ experience in people management
Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Ability to work with behaviorally and medically compromised animals
Fear Free certified within 6 months of hire
DVM degree or Master's/PhD in animal Behavior or related discipline
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in developing/overseeing research projects
Experience writing scientific publications
