As a Fleet Shop Manager at XPO, you will lead a maintenance team, ensuring the highest levels of safety and productivity in fleet operations. This role involves overseeing maintenance processes, managing team dynamics, and driving efficiency while offering a competitive compensation package and excellent benefits from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Handle maintenance team employees and contingent workers including hiring, mentoring, scheduling, training, and recommendations for promotion or discipline
Support teammates in overseeing equipment maintenance and out-of-service equipment
Facilitate the Job Selection/Shift Bid (JSP) process for shop employees
Oversee routine maintenance functions to ensure equipment proficiency
Ensure shop cycle counts and inventory levels are managed correctly
Review and research trends in parts utilization and shop efficiency
Monitor shop for safety, service, quality, efficiency, and compliance
Ensure compliance with company procedures and DOT policies
Required Qualifications
5 years of experience in fleet maintenance
A valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree
Current ASE certifications
Current CDL
Less-than-Truckload (LTL) experience
Available to work a variety of shifts
Solid verbal and written communication skills
Able to lead and motivate others
Excellent time management skills
