Job Title: Registered Nurse – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: 3x12 Hour Shifts | 36 Hours per Week
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients with complex and acute conditions.
- Monitor patient conditions, obtain and interpret physiological data, and intervene promptly as needed.
- Administer medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products safely and accurately.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
- Document patient care, nursing interventions, and changes in patient condition in accordance with hospital policies.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding treatment plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff and ensure safe, coordinated care.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of Pediatric ICU (PICU) nursing experience required.
- Strong understanding of pediatric nursing theory, techniques, and practices.
- Excellent communication, organization, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to adapt to high-pressure, fast-paced clinical environments.
- Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR) and basic computer applications.
Education:
- Required: Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Certifications & Licensure:
- Active RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a Compact Multistate RN License (eNLC) .
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association.
