Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll support a dedicated team providing high-quality care to underserved communities. Lead and mentor veterinarians, ensuring exceptional patient care while directly impacting the lives of animals in need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the Community Veterinary Clinic
  • Train veterinarians in high-quality spay/neuter techniques
  • Support a positive work culture through regular feedback and coaching
  • Perform high-quality spay/neuter surgical procedures
  • Provide preventive and basic care to patients
  • Schedule staff veterinarians for optimal coverage
  • Participate in monthly Veterinary Medicine Rounds

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Excellent work attendance record
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience
