Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Waterloo, Iowa (50703) – Iowa nursing jobs
• Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry, Nursing Float-Resource Unit
• Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
• Start Date: November 12, 2025
• End Date: February 11, 2026
• Duration: 13-week travel nurse assignment
• Shift: Nights, 3x12 hour shifts/week (36 hours/week)
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Unit Ratios: 1:6
• Bed Size: 130
• EMR System: EPIC
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1880 - $2020

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year recent experience as a Med/Surg Telemetry RN (2 years preferred)
• Active Iowa Registered Nurse license
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Proficient in EKG/ECG interpretation, rhythm strips, and dysrhythmia analysis
• Experience with IV drips: heparin, insulin, lasix, amiodarone, diltiazem, digoxin
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Completion of Cardiac Dysrhythmias class and passing associated tests
• Submission of updated resume, skills checklist (within 1 year), license verification, and references
• Proof of taxable address per local traveler policy

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; administer interventions as needed
• Administer and monitor IV drips according to physician orders
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR system
• Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations
