📍 Location: Saint Luke’s South Hospital, 12300 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS
Facility & Unit Overview
- Unit: Emergency Department (ED) – 12 rooms
- Facility Type: Non-trauma ED, Primary Stroke & STEMI Center
- Patient Age Groups: Neonates to Geriatrics
- Daily Census: ~50 patients
- Float Requirement: Yes – ED Hold area and other units within scope
- Weekend Requirement: 8–10 shifts per 6-week schedule (Fri/Sat/Sun)
- Orientation: 40 hours (50% non-billable)
- Block Scheduling: Not permitted
- Local Policy: No locals within 75 miles
- RTO Limit: Max 7 days
Requirements
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years ER experience
- First-time travelers accepted
- Licensure & Certifications (must be in-hand):
- Active KS RN license
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- PALS (AHA)
- NIHSS
- TNCC
- CPI & MAB (preferred)
Skills & Procedures
Includes but not limited to:
- Emergency Response: Dysrhythmia management, triage, multisystem organ failure
- Respiratory: CPAP/BiPAP, ventilator care, ABG interpretation
- Lines & Meds: IV therapy, central line care, IV sedation, vasopressors
- Work Settings: Combined Adult/Pediatric ED, STEMI & Stroke Certified Facility
- Special Notes: May manage OB patients and mother/baby until transfer
