Job Description
Join USAA as a Senior Injury Adjuster, where you'll handle complex bodily injury claims and deliver exceptional service to our military community. This hybrid role requires in-office work three days a week, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our members.
Key Responsibilities
Adjust attorney-involved and non-represented bodily injury claims
Investigate loss details and determine legal liability
Evaluate, negotiate, and adjudicate claims in a timely manner
Manage assigned claims workload and keep members informed
Collaborate with team members to resolve issues
Deliver best-in-class member service through proactive communication
Support workload surges and catastrophe response operations
Ensure risks are identified and controlled according to compliance policies
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
2 years of auto claims adjusting experience
1 year of injury adjusting experience
Proficient knowledge of auto claims contract and state laws
Negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills
Time-management and decision-making skills
Investigatory, prioritizing, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology
Ability to exercise financial judgment in handling claims
Knowledge of coverage evaluation and loss assessment
Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days
Preferred Qualifications
4 or more years of auto liability/casualty adjusting experience
1 year or more experience in Uninsured Motorist claims
Ongoing professional development in Insurance
Bachelor's degree or higher
