Ochsner Health is seeking a Full-Time Sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in both outpatient and inpatient settings. This role involves collaborating with radiologists to provide preliminary findings and ensure high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Perform various diagnostic ultrasound examinations under the direction of a radiologist
Compile history and diagnostic information from the ultrasound examination
Present preliminary sonographic findings to the Radiologist
Utilize consistent techniques to gather relevant information from patients and healthcare providers
Select, prepare, and set up ultrasound equipment and supplies
Perform timely inspections to ensure equipment calibration
Demonstrate responsibility for professional development
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Certification by The American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Abdominal and OB-Gyn ultrasound or Cardiac Sonography
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) Certification within two years of hire
