Physical Therapist at University Health summary:

A Physical Therapist develops and implements individualized treatment programs for patients, utilizing advanced clinical and leadership skills. They coordinate patient care, participate in educational initiatives, and supervise staff and students to ensure quality healthcare delivery. This role requires licensure, extensive clinical experience, and active participation in healthcare team collaboration for optimal patient outcomes.

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops, implements, and evaluates professionally competent, comprehensive individual and group treatment programs for all medically referred patients. Performs advanced leadership skills in provision and coordination of patient care, departmental projects and committees. Participates and initiates educational, administrative, managerial, and quality control duties as assigned. Performs professionally competent physical therapy treatment programs and related documentation on all assigned patient programs efficiently and efficiently. Participate with other members of the health care team to achieve maximum patient benefit and efficiency. Participates in and contributes to educational programs. Serves as a Clinical Instructor for various levels of physical therapist and/or physical therapist assistant students as assigned. Assists with supervision and evaluation of assigned P.T. staff or volunteers.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy. Five years’ experience as a physical therapist and two years’ experience at University Health System or equivalent. Supervisory and/or clinical teaching experience and additional clinical experience is preferred. Meets clinical and leadership activities and behaviors as defined in the clinical ladder or equivalent.

LICENSURE
Licensure by the Executive Council of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners as an Physical Therapist is required. Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card. Ambulatory Therapist must be a participating Medicaid and Medicare provider or be eligible to obtain a Medicaid and Medicare provider number.
