Job Description
As a Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist at ECHN, you will evaluate and treat patients, utilizing your expertise to improve their speech and language functions. This role includes interdisciplinary collaboration, patient education, and the potential for cross-site coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact on patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluates patients based on departmental standards
Conducts and modifies evaluations based on patient symptoms and medical status
Treats patients with appropriate therapeutic techniques
Administers physical agents and manual therapeutic techniques
Utilizes techniques to assist in normalizing speech and language activity
Educates patients and families on home exercise programs
Determines when patients have achieved maximal benefit from treatment
Documents in accordance with insurance guidelines
Communicates effectively with interdepartmental staff and referring physicians
Fills out and submits charges accurately
Adheres to professional code of ethics
Performs all duties with proper body mechanics and safety
Supervises affiliated students
Attends continuing education courses
Participates in departmental or community in-services
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited program of Speech Language Pathology with a minimum of a M.S.
Holds current Connecticut license for Speech Language Pathology
Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association
