Key Responsibilities:
Assist pharmacists in preparing, packaging, and dispensing medications
Deliver medications to nursing units and other departments as needed
Maintain accurate medication records and ensure proper labeling and storage
Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and restocking medications and supplies
Compound sterile and non-sterile preparations following safety and compliance guidelines
Handle insurance claims and prior authorizations under pharmacist direction
Operate and maintain pharmacy automation systems and equipment
Ensure compliance with all hospital, state, and federal regulations
Provide excellent customer service to patients, nurses, and physicians
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program preferred
Current Pharmacy Technician license in the state of New Mexico (or eligibility to obtain)
National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills
Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and drug names
Work Environment:
Hospital-based setting with rotating shifts, weekends, and holiday coverage as needed
Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
