Travel Nurse Job Details

  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $1980–$2120
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks

  • Location: Pratt, KS 67124 (Kansas travel nursing job)
  • Healthcare Setting: Community Hospital Operating Room
  • Shift: Day shift, Monday–Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (06:30 – 15:00)
  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Call Requirements: Call every 5th or 6th weekend and one day during the week
  • Patient Population: Adolescents, Infants, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
  • Unit Details: 5 OR rooms, daily census of 12

Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience (proficiency in Ortho/total joints, general, and OB required)
  • Active Kansas RN license or compact state nursing license
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • Proficiency with electronic charting systems (any system accepted)
  • Experience with orthopedic, GYN, podiatry, general, endoscopy, and labor & delivery (C-sections) procedures
  • Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
  • First-time travel nurses not accepted

OR RN Responsibilities

  • Circulate in the operating room for a variety of surgical procedures, including orthopedics (total joints), general surgery, OB, GYN, podiatry, and endoscopy
  • Assist with special procedures such as C-sections, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, and hip fracture surgeries
  • Ensure patient safety and compliance with infection control, fire safety, laser, and radiation safety protocols
  • Accurately handle and label specimens, following universal protocol (time out) procedures
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, and Pharmacy
  • Participate in call rotation and provide coverage as scheduled
  • Float to other nursing units as needed
