Job Description Summary:

In collaboration with the department's management team, manages the daily operations of Radiation Oncology.

This position works Monday - Friday from 8am-4:30pm; no weekend, no holidays.

Responsibilities And Duties:

In collaboration with management, organize the daily operations of the labs as they relate to the scheduling system, triage of emergency/urgent cases, availability of physicians, and staffing levels. Assign workloads, determine work priorities, include physicians in decision-making processes, handle emergency problems and serve as a resource person for lab staff and other hospital employees. Maintain timely, effective, two-way communication with the medical staff to initiate and support collaborative clinical management practices, policies and procedures. Assumes role of Asst Manager or Manager in their absence.

Shares staff on-call responsibilities and functions clinically as CVRT, Cardiac Sonographer, or Registered Nurse, as qualified. Maintains radiation safety program/lead checks. Participates in external agency review/accreditations: JCAHO, State of Ohio, ICAEL, other.

Maintain recognized standards of clinical practice and patient care. Utilize and maintain management systems, professional practices, and policies and procedures to increase productivity and contain costs.

Collaborates with the management team of the hospital to maintain and enhance a service oriented environment for patients and their families, other staff members, and the medical staff. Interprets, administers and applies hospital and departmental policies and procedures in a consistent manner. Assist Manager to implement, and coordinated the staff orientation program, as well as ongoing educational needs of the department's staff. Maintain records of staff competence, certification requirements and in-service attendance.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree: Nursing (Required)BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, RN - Registered Nurse - Ohio Board of Nursing

Additional Job Description:

Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing and currently licensed in the State of Ohio. 

BLS.  Must have at least one to three years of Nursing. Computer entry data, knowledge of sterile techniques.
