ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (American Heart Association preferred)
• COVID-19 vaccine and booster required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Experience with Meditech charting preferred
• Proficient in interpreting and managing cardiac dysrhythmias
• Strong IV starting and triage skills
• References and certification documentation required upon submission

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency care to diverse patient populations
• Assess, triage, and prioritize patient care based on acuity in a busy ER environment
• Start and maintain IVs, administer medications, and perform emergency interventions
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Accurately document patient care using Meditech electronic health records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Rotate through triage assignments and function as charge nurse as needed
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:4-5, with flexibility during high census periods
