Job Description

Join St. Vincent's Medical Center as an Emergency Department Crisis Clinician, providing vital psychiatric care in a fast-paced environment. Utilize your expertise to conduct assessments and coordinate patient care, making a significant impact on individuals in crisis within the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct emergency psychiatric assessments and determine appropriate disposition
  • Facilitate treatment process through advocacy, referral, and discharge planning
  • Coordinate care and dispositions of psychiatric patients with Emergency Department staff
  • Document assessments and all case management activities related to patients
  • Initiate treatment plans for longer stay patients in collaboration with providers

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy
  • Current CT license: LCSW, LMFT, or LPC
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a psychiatric setting, preferably in an emergency department/crisis role
  • Computer proficient
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four years' experience in a psychiatric setting, preferably in an emergency department/crisis role
  • Ability to assess problems, determine solutions, and make timely decisions
  • Experience in quality and safety initiatives
