ECU Medical Center is a 900+ bed Level-1 Trauma Center, regional referral hospital and is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health. We serve as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Vidant Medical Center provides acute, intermediate, rehabilitation and outpatient services to more than 1.4 million people in 29 counties. POSITION SUMMARY Delivers quality patient care, utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) to guide care delivery. Directs, quality patient care, utilizing advanced clinical skill levels and knowledge. Develops, implements, revises and evaluates the plan of care. Executes the Vidant Medical Center Nursing Professional Practice Model and Model of care delivery to support professional practice and collaborative partnerships with each other, physicians and members of the healthcare team. Engages in professional growth and development, continuing competence, lifelong learning, quality care and research to affect empirical outcomes. Participates in community partnerships and collaborative initiatives. Participates in the development of students, new nurses and experienced nurses hired into the organization. Develops and serves in a leadership role at the unit level such as charge nurses, clinical coach. Partners with unit leadership on quality and/or research initiatives to achieve outcomes. Fulfills criteria spelled out in the Professional & Clinical Excellence Pathway.
Required Qualifications
Registered Nurse, ICU Certifications: ACLS; BLS; PALS; CERT-TNCC intermediate level/critical care level experience
