An Internal Medicine Physician providing primary care in an outpatient setting, responsible for patient education, diagnosis, treatment, and referrals. Works under the Medical Director to manage wellness, prevention, and early detection, using medical judgment to prescribe treatments. Requires medical licensure, board certification, and experience in internal medicine or family practice with effective communication and EMR skills.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Reports directly to the Medical Director.
Educate patients on wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials and resources to the patients and their families.
Determine which referrals are required based upon examination and patient needs.
Determine level of urgency of follow-up referral consultation appointments.
Exercises final medical judgment in all issues of healthcare.
Prescribes medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients.
Effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette.
Typing and computer skills to effectively navigate and utilize EMR.
Performs in a tactful and professional manner.
Qualifications:
Medical Degree (MD) or Doctor of Medicine in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
Experience in an outpatient setting, particularly with HMO or managed care, is preferred.
Proficiency in Spanish is desirable.
At least two (2) years of direct work experience in the field.
Licensure/Certifications:
Active state license for Georgia.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Primary Care/Internal Medicine.
Current DEA and DPS Certification of Registration required.
