Description Summary:
This position is responsible for performing noninvasive procedures which include stress testing, Holter monitoring, event monitoring, standard, and complex electrocardiograms.
CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - Shoreline overlooking Corpus Christi Bay is the largest and foremost acute care medical facility in the region, with a full range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac, cancer, and stroke care. It is the leading emergency facility in the area with a Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffed with physicians and nurses specially trained in emergency services.
- The Pavilion and North Tower house a state-of-the-art emergency department, ICU, Cardiac Cath Lab and surgical suites

Responsibilities:
- Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Performs EKG's utilizing the GE MAC 5500 machine.
- Performs electrocardiograms for inpatient and outpatient populations including all ages.
- Performs Holter monitor hook-ups.
- Performs Cardiac event monitor hook-ups.
- Responsible for quarterly quality assurance for stat EKGs.
- Schedules all patients for any and all procedures performed in the department that requires an appointment.
- Refers outpatients to centralized scheduling.
- Performs assessments on patients of various ages prior to the diagnostic procedure in-patient and outpatient procedures.
- Maintains all diagnostic equipment by assuring that they are properly functioning and cleaned after every patient.
- Notifies physicians daily for exam interpretation and files reports.
- Checks weekly for needed supplies.
- Demonstrates competency to do assigned client care responsibilities in a way that meets the age-specific and developmental needs of persons served in the department.
- Appropriately adapts assigned client assessment, treatment and/ or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age specific and other developmental needs of each patient served.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
- 1 year of prior EKG experience preferred.
