Job Description

Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator and play a vital role in connecting patients with essential healthcare services. You'll manage patient registrations, insurance verifications, and appointment scheduling while providing outstanding customer service in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service to all customers
  • Greet patients and check them in and out
  • Collect appropriate co-pays and adhere to cash handling policies
  • Schedule appointments verifying visit type and provider
  • Manage waiting room cleanliness and communicate with patients
  • Collaborate with back office staff to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Resolve service issues and defer to management when necessary
  • Assist co-workers with duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • CPR certified or able to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • 1+ years of experience with insurance programs
  • Experience working with an electronic health record
  • Medical office setting experience
  • Knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Independent means of transportation during work hours
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English
