Job Description

As the Director of Operations, you will oversee the management of the agency's real estate portfolio in NYC, ensuring efficient property operations and maintaining high safety standards. You'll lead a team, collaborate with contractors, and drive accountability through performance metrics, making a significant impact on the organization's mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day operations for agency properties across five NYC boroughs
  • Monitor sysaid tickets and ensure timely responses from area managers
  • Manage and mentor area managers and handyman teams
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing contractors
  • Ensure life safety vendors adhere to contract standards
  • Develop and implement performance metrics for operational effectiveness

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years as a tradesperson, preferably mechanical, plumbing, or electrical
  • At least 5 years of managerial experience overseeing teams or operations
  • Verifiable experience with technical building systems
  • Proven understanding of maintenance operations and vendor management
  • Fluent in English
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a hybrid role with field and office responsibilities
  • Familiarity with life safety system requirements and contract management
  • Ability to develop and analyze performance metrics
  • Prior experience managing large real estate portfolios
