Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently performs advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures Acts as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students Verifies physician order and procedure accuracy Explains procedures to patients for understanding Operates equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol Reviews patient images for diagnostic quality Completes quality control procedures Facilitates departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance) Adapts behavior to specific patient populations Required QualificationsCompletion of a CAHEA approved formal training program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or registry eligible Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association Preferred Qualifications2 years Sonographer experience Advanced certification in area(s) of specialty
