Position Purpose:
Certified Pharmacy Tech Senior will assist the pharmacist in assuring timely and accurate provision of medications to patients. Routine technician functions are performed under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. These functions may include unit dose dispensing, intravenous admixing, inventory control, record keeping and billing, and use of equipment and automated technology. Additional responsibilities include special projects as assigned by managers, assisting with purchasing, developing staffing patterns and assignments for other technicians, prioritizing work responsibilities, and precepting/training newly hired technicians. The Certified Pharmacy Technician Senior must have expertise in a particular area in order to serve as a resource for other pharmacy staff.
What You Will Do:
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school graduation or equivalent
· Licensure / Certification: Approved Pharmacy Technician Certification. Active registration as a Certified Tech with Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
· Experience: 1 or more years of experience in hospital pharmacy with expertise in a particular area of pharmacy services (IV room, ADC/Pyxis, Packager, etc). Reports to: "Coordinator/Manager/Director of Pharmacy; will receive work direction from Patient Care Pharmacist on duty consistent with the Drug Laws in Ohio
