The Senior Director of Behavior at ASPCA will lead behavioral care for animals in need, ensuring high-quality medical and behavioral support. By collaborating with a dedicated team, this role emphasizes research, education, and the holistic well-being of animals in the ARC and CARE programs.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee behavioral care and pathway planning for ARC and CARE animals
Ensure high quality, low stress patient and population care
Manage, coach, and collaborate with behavior staff
Lead research projects and share knowledge
Maintain close communication with veterinary and behavior colleagues
Required Qualifications
Master’s or PhD in animal Behavior or related discipline
DVM or equivalent from AVMA accredited veterinary school
3+ years’ experience in people management
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Comfortable with humane euthanasia decisions and procedures
Fear Free certified within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in developing/overseeing research projects
