Job Description
Join Raytheon's Energetics and Propulsion Department as a Principal Engineer, where you'll develop cutting-edge one shot devices and lead technical oversight on critical projects. Your expertise will contribute to innovative solutions that enhance national security and defense.
Key Responsibilities
Apply and develop advanced one shot devices technologies
Provide technical oversight to subcontractors
Manage subcontract suppliers to deliver required subsystem components
Interface with customers to identify user needs
Support failure analysis and corrective action
Present design models and supporting analyses/test results
Support proposals requiring one shots technologies
Oversee fact-finding and contract negotiations
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree and 5 years of relevant experience
Minimum of 8 years of experience in fuzing / one shots / engineering technology and/or engineering design
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
MS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math or related science degree
Ten or more years of directly related experience in one shot devices and their applications
Experience in one shots subsystems design, development, and test
Experience in working with and managing one shot suppliers
Supplier collaboration experience and oversight generating specifications and statements of work (SOW)
Experience in One-Shot component designs and ability to evaluate performance data
Excellent written and verbal skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
Experience with DoD customers and/or associated contractor executives
