Health and Wellness Programs The Occupational Therapist evaluates patients and helps them improve basic motor functions and reasoning abilities, but also compensate for permanent loss of function by teaching them to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments. May also assist patients in selecting appropriate adaptive equipment and assistive devices. Hours: PRN, as needed. Applies appropriate application of age specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for patients. Coordinates and supervises staff. Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Control standards. Two years’ direct patient occupational therapy care and treatment experience preferred. Experience in rehabilitation hospital setting preferred. Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist required. Demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients Demonstrates an understanding of treatment costs and financial support as they relate to quality and efficiency. Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection prevention standards. Physical Requirements Over the Course of a Shift: Visual acuity required for patient assessment and documentation of care. Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard. #
