Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a dynamic team dedicated to providing high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities. You'll support both new and experienced veterinarians, ensuring optimal patient care and fostering a positive workplace culture while directly impacting animal welfare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the veterinary clinics
  • Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
  • Support a positive work culture of respect, belonging, and teamwork
  • Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-volume spay/neuter procedures
  • Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Excellent work attendance record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience strongly preferred
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
