Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team on the 7 West Unit. This position is for a 12-hour night shift (7 PM - 7:30 AM), including weekend shifts. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment, working with a diverse patient population.
Unit Overview
- Total Beds: 32 (12 Stepdown & 20 Floor)
- Patient Ratios:
- 1:3 for Stepdown
- 1:4-6 for Floor
Responsibilities
- Provide bedside nursing care to a typical MedSurg population, including patients with conditions such as Chest Pain, COPD, AMS, Pneumonia, UTI, and Abdominal Pain.
- Ability to titrate drips in the stepdown unit and manage PCA for floor patients.
- Monitor telemetry strips in collaboration with telemetry monitor techs.
- Work collaboratively with a charge nurse and house supervisor available at all times.
- Participate in patient care, including potential floating to different floors or stepdown units as needed.
Requirements
- Current and valid BLS certification.
- Willingness to work two weekends per schedule and incorporate into the permanent staff holiday schedule.
- Ability to read telemetry strips and actively monitor patients on telemetry.
- Experience with acute care settings preferred.
Additional Details
- Shift Duration: 91-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week.
- Cancellation Policy: Up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract.

- If previously a perm candidate, must be gone for 2 years; travelers who have been on-site for a full year must also be gone for 2 years.
