📋 Job Overview
- Shift: 12-Hour Days (06:45 AM start)
- Schedule: Every other weekend (EOW), first to float
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
- Start Dates Considered: Only 6/24 or 7/8
- Contract Length: 91 weeks
- Float Requirement:
- Between RICU & CSICI
- To other Sacramento facilities if needed (mid-shift float rare)
🏥 Facility & Unit Details
- Units: RICU (Medical ICU) & CSICI (Cardiac Specialty ICU)
- Beds: 6 beds + 1 open bay
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:1–2:1 (IABP not automatically 1:1)
- Charge Nurse: Yes (typically non-patient-facing, does break relief)
- Nurse Aides: No
- Scrub Color: Navy (undershirts: navy, white, or black; jackets optional but navy)
💉 Clinical Requirements
- Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years in Cardiac ICU
- Experience with open heart, Impella, and balloon pumps
- Post-op cardiac surgery experience preferred
- Must read/interpret EKGs
- Certifications Required:
- Procedures/Conditions Frequently Seen:
- AMI, AVR, MVR, respiratory/renal failure, IABP, CRRT, Impella, therapeutic hypothermia
- Common procedures: Chest tubes, intubations, emergency sternotomy
- Technology/Support:
- Tele monitoring: Yes
- Vents: Yes
- RT 24/7: Yes
- Pharmacy 24/7: Yes (ICU pharmacy open during days)
- Hospitalist/Intensivist: In-house
- IV Team: Not available

- Charting System: Cerner
- Orientation: 1–2 days with a preceptor on the floor

- Dysrhythmia Exam (DYS):
- Required before acceptance
- Must be completed within 24–48 hours of assignment offer
- Pass/fail, 2 attempts (Test A then B)
- Screenshot proof of attempts required
- Recent Relias DYS within 12 months accepted

- Employment Restrictions:
