Job Description

Join Providence as a Senior Phlebotomist and play a vital role in patient care by performing essential laboratory duties. You'll work with a dedicated team to ensure the highest quality of service and support for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reception and telephone duties
  • Proficient operation of laboratory equipment including HIS/LIS systems
  • Specimen handling: receiving and processing
  • Preparation and shipping of lab specimens for reference laboratories
  • Specimen/patient registration
  • Phlebotomy - collection of blood samples by venipuncture or capillary stick
  • Therapeutic blood collection
  • Swab collection of specific Micro samples
  • Training new staff as assigned
  • Dispatch functions, EKG performance, collection of drug screens, and Breath Alcohol Testing when assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification
  • 2 years experience in a clinical lab setting
  • Experience in 7 of the basic skills described in the essential functions of the job description

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework/Training: Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy training Program/Course approved by WA State
